What is a carbon footprint and how can I reduce carbon emissions?
What is a Carbon Footprint? PDF Print E-mail

The technologically and industrially advanced age that we live in is not without consequences. Every time we turn on the lights, drive a car, take a flight, we are unwittingly producing CO2 which contributes to an excess of greenhouse gases.  The increase in greenhouse gases present in recent times is directly linked to rise of global warming.  These greenhouse gases responsible for global warming are measured in units of carbon dioxide or CO2.  The amount of CO2 that each person is responsible for is called a Carbon Footprint.  Awareness of global warming is growing, with this awareness the population at large has sought a means of calculating their impact.  This prompted scientists to develop what we now know as a carbon calculator, this is a calculation method used to calculate the individuals carbon footprint.  Go Evergreen utilizes the carbon calculator and calculation methods of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA.)  Go Evergreen offers to its customers the opportunity to calculate their carbon footprint and offset it through carbon offset forestry.
